World Economic Forum Cancels Annual Meeting Over COVID Fears
Despite the fact that a vaccine for COVID-19 now exists and the threat from the virus is waning, WEF founder Klaus Schwab is scrapping this year's big event.

(WP) The World Economic Forum (WEF) recently announced that its annual meeting has been cancelled for the second year in a row.
Normally held in Davos during the month of January, the gathering is attended by global executives and policymakers from around the world.
The COVID-19 pandemic prevented WEF delegates from meeting in-person last year. The 2021 meeting had already been pushed back twice, first to May then to August. The location had also changed, first moving from Davos to Lucerne, then from Lucerne to Singapore. However, a resurgence of infections in Singapore has rendered that area too difficult to get to and has deemed it too dangerous for visitors.
Though no formal date has been announced, the forum says it will hold its next in-person meeting sometime during the first half of 2022.
