COVID-19: Bust for Some, Boon for Others
We've all seen the reports about how much money big pharma is raking in for their COVID injections. We've heard of public officials extending lockdowns just so they can keep collecting government relief dollars. We've watched mom-and-pops go out of business because of mandatory closures while big box stores thrive in this new tyrannical reality in which we find ourselves.
We've seen COVID Essentials stores appear overnight in our airports. We've witnessed huge growth in the personal protective equipment industry, as things like fashionable face masks are all the rage. And a whole new market has emerged for skilled delivery drivers.
One company, STANLEY Security, is also capitalizing on the COVID crisis. STANLEY has developed a three-step guide to help organizations identify health and safety risks within their workplaces and implement the right solutions to mitigate risks.
"At STANLEY Security we have always prioritized the security, health, and safety of people around the world – and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic has made that even more important," said Matt Kushner, President of STANLEY Security. "We created this guide to be able to provide leaders with three simple steps to ensure they are protecting employees as we enter the new phase of work, and to demonstrate not only the ease but the importance of getting it right."
STANLEY's main product is their UNA™ ecosystem. A cursory glance at the company's website provides a better idea about what the offering is.
According to their site, "UNA’s hardware and software solutions connect to proactively protect your people; safeguard your assets; secure your networks; and manage your operations. Those same solutions also gather and combine data with Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) technology, to proactively solve problems and provide insights for operational efficiencies."
From mask detection surveillance to the more invasive "integrated temperature screening," STANLEY Security is all about helping employers monitor and control darned near everything. This is, of course, is completely acceptable under the guise of keeping people safe and protecting them. But make no mistake, this new concept of workplace safety is nothing like the old one, whose standards defined under federal OSHA guidelines.
No, workplace safety now has much broader implications. We must not touch one another, share writing instruments, or borrow one another's staplers. We must disinfect all touchable surfaces - not just doors and countertops, but copy machines and telephones. Workspaces might still be open, but we must install plexiglass or plastic bubbles to prevent the spread of germs amongst workers!
No chit-chatting at the water cooler or lingering in the hallway to share whispered gossip. We must obey the AI, which watches us with cameras and sensors and scolds us when we misbehave.
Heaven help us all when we figure out exactly what is meant by "health and safety analytics" (another of STANLEY Security's offerings).
At times like this we're left to wonder, how long until we're required to inject company-sponsored microchips into our skin? How long until every aspect of our workday is recorded and analyzed for some dystopian human efficiency rating?
How long until they start counting the number of trips we make to the bathroom, the printer or the break room?
How long until they know more about our personal health risks (blood pressure, sugar levels, pulse rate, menstrual cycle, etc.) than even we ourselves do? And how much longer do we have before they start using this information against us in decisions about hiring, firing and promotions?
This is where it's leading, friends. The story has already been written. We're just marching toward the climax. Just like COVID, the coming technocracy will be a boon for some. For others, it will be a large scale open prison system like nothing the world has ever seen.
Don't go bust in the coming tribulation. Jesus Christ can save you from all of that!
